World Photo Magazine in China kindly ran an 8 page article on I Used to be You, the latest series I have been working on. Thank you so much for the feature. On a completely different note, I was in Japantown in San Francisco about a week ago and ran into many cousins of Kikuchiyo-san on the street, sweeping brooms, chatting in quiet voices on the bench, and walking by carrying shopping bags. Being on the East Coast, I forget that Japanese elders in the West have a much deeper, and longer relationship with American history. Seeing many Korean and Japanese seniors there, I wondered what those Japantowns in the West Coast are going to be like once the current inhabitants are gone.
